UNIVERSITY OF HYDERABAD
DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY

The Department of History, University of Hyderabad invites applications for appointing 4 Nos. Guest Faculty in History to teach the students of MA III Semester and Integrated M.A. I/III/V Semesters Students in Social Sciences, on a consolidated pay as detailed below, for teaching 4 credit courses.

Qualification: Good academic record with at least 55% of the marks, or an equivalent grade of B in the 7 points scale with letter grades O, A, B, C, D, E & F at the M A level in History from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from a foreign University. Desirable Qualifications: A Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject or research work of an equally high standard.

Name of the Courses to be taught:

• Socio-economic history of India upto AD 500 - MA III Semester.
• Socio-economic history of Medieval India 1200-1500 - MA III Semester.
• Ancient Civilization - IMA I Semester
• History, its nature and purpose - IMA III Semester
• Approaches to World History - IMA III Semester
• Introduction to History and Society in India III - IMA V Semester
• Out of 6 courses, two courses will be given extra to the two Guest Faculty members

Emoluments : A consolidated payment of Rs.20,000.00 per month per course will be paid. In case, two courses are given, a consolidated payment of Rs.30,000.00 per month will be paid.
Period of Appointment : 16.07.2010 to 30.11.2010.
