PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION, WEST BENGAL
EXAMINATION FOR RECRUITMENT TO GROUP ‘D’ POSTS
UNDER GOVERNMENT OF WEST BENGAL, 2009

PSCWB invites applications from Indian citizens or such other nationalities as are declared eligible by the Government of India in prescribed proforma as given below for the Group ‘D’ Posts Recruitment Examination, 2009 to be conducted by the Public Service Commission, West Bengal for recruitment to the vacant posts of Peon, Orderly Peon, Night Guard, Darwan, Farash and such other nomenclature of posts in the West Bengal Secretariats, Directorates and in the Govt. offices of the districts under the rule making power of the Govt. of West Bengal. All appointments will initially be made on a temporary basis as per details given below:-

Pay Scale :PB – 1 Rs.4,900 – 16,200/- + Gr. P Rs.1700/- . Besides Pay, Allowances as granted by the Govt. from time to time are also admissible.

Age: Not less than 18 years and not more than 37 years on the 1st January, 2009 ( i.e. born not earlier than the 2nd January, 1972 and not later than the 1st January, 1991). Upper age-limit is relaxable as per rules.

Qualification

1. Candidates shall have Class – VIII pass certificate from a recognized school or recognized madrasah or any other recognized equivalent institution;
2. The ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required for recruitment in the case of Nepali speaking candidates from hill areas of the District of Darjeeling).
