A walk-in-interview is scheduled to be held in the office of the Director, Arid Forest Research Institute, Jodhpur for engaging Junior Research Fellows (JRFs) & Field Assistant for the project mentioned below. Interested persons having the requisite qualification etc. may attend the interview on the specified date and time alongwith their bio-date and original certificates of their qualifications etc :-

Name of Project:- Development of tissue culture technology for multiplication of economically important desert plant- Salvadora persica.

• Total Vacancies and stipend 1 JRF Rs.12000/- + HRA per month
• Duration of the project 2010-2015
• Qualification :-i). 1st Class M.Sc in Botany/ Biotechnology. ii). Atleast 6 months experience in Tissue culture.

Name of Project:- Investigations on Genetic Variation and Inheritance of Western Indian Teak (Tectona grandis)

• Total Vacancies and stipend 1 JRF Rs.12000/- + HRA per month
• Duration of the project 2010-2015
• Qualification :-i). 1st Class M.Sc in Agriculture (Plant Breeding & Genetics)/ Forestry with specialization in forest genetics and Tree Breeding ii). Experience of work related to the selection of germplasm/ plus trees, establishment management and evaluation of genetic tests is desirable

Name of Project:- Vegetation Carbon Pool Assessment Project

• Total Vacancies and stipend 1 JRF Rs.8000/- + HRA per month
• Duration of the project 2009-10
• Qualification :-i). M.Sc. High Second Class (>55%) in Botany/ Forestry ii). Experience in identification of Plant species

Name of Project:-Evaluation of antifungal potential and identification of broad spectrum fungicidal compound from some trees of arid region of Rajasthan

• Total Vacancies and stipend Field Assistant Rs.8000/- + HRA per month
• Duration of the project 2010-15
• Qualification :-i). B.Sc.in Botany/ Chemistry ii). Computer knowledge is essential

Age limit is 28 years for JRFs & Field Assistant as on 01-07- 2009 (relaxation by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates).
