Also a new Centre for Climate Change Research (CCCR) is being established at the Institute to address all science issues related to climate change.The IITM is looking for recruiting bright talented candidates of Indian origin for the following positions to do research in the following areas - (i) Development of a Dynamical Prediction System of Seasonal Mean Monsoon Rainfall, (ii) Extended Range Prediction System for Active and Break Spells of the Monsoon, (iii) Parameterization of Tropical Convection for Weather and Climate Models and (iv) Interaction between Tropical Convection and Environment and Physics and Dynamics of Tropical Clouds using Radars (v) Science of Climate Change:

1. Scientist `E` Pay Scale : Rs. 37400-67000 Grade Pay Rs. 8700/- Age : 45 years
2. Scientist `D` Pay Scale : Rs.15600 – 39100, Grade Pay Rs. 7600/- Age : 40 years
3. Scientist `C` Pay Scale : Rs. 15600-39100, Grade Pay Rs. 6600/- Age : 35 years
